About The Australian Coins:

The Australian Two-Cent Coin

  • Made of Bronze  (97% copper, 2.5% zinc and 0.5% tin)
  • Diameter of  22 mm
  • Weight of 5.2 grams

Introduced on the 14 February 1966 the Australian two cent coin is a desired and sought after collector’s item. Arnold Machin’s portrait of Queen Elizabeth II was featured on the back of the coin until 1984.  It was changed in 1985 to a version by Raphael Maklouf, which remained until its demonetisation. The decision to remove the coin from circulation was confirmed in the Treasurer’s budget speech of 21 August 1991. The move was due to inflation reducing its value, and the high cost of bronze.  Now it is used to make Australian Coin Cufflinks. The Australian Halfpenny Coin

  • Made of Bronze (Copper 97.5%, Zinc 2.0% and Tin 0.5%).
  • Diameter of 25.4 mm
  • Weight of 5.67 g.

The Australian Halfpenny was a coin used in the Commonwealth of Australia prior to decimalisation. Now it is used to make Australian Coin Cufflinks. The Australian Halfpenny has a Kangaroo on one side and King George or Queen Elizabeth on the other. The coin was first minted in 1911 and stopped being minted in 1964, excluding 1937, 1956 – 1958 inclusive. source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Halfpenny_%28Australian%29 The Australin One Cent Coin

  • Made of Bronze  (97% copper, 2.5% zinc and 0.5% tin)
  • Diameter of  17.65 mm
  • Weight of 2.6 grams

The Australian one-cent coin was the lowest-denomination coin of the Australian dollar, introduced in 14 February 1966 on the decimalisation of Australian currency until it was withdrawn from circulation in 1992. From 1966 until 1984 the obverse featured the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Arnold Machin. It was changed in 1985 to a version by Raphael Maklouf, which remained until its demonetisation in 1992. The reverse side of the coin featured the image of a Feathertail Glider (Acrobates pygmaeus), a gliding possum unique to Australian states bordering the Pacific Ocean.   A stylish triple set of our popular Australian Coin Cufflinks at a great price.
